Fun Factory was the first sex toy brand we ever met. It was in Berlin, where we were randomly wandering around the city and we ended up in their newly opened flagship store on the exact opening day.
The bright colours, well-designed elegant shapes and the care of the details had us convinced that there actually were sex toys different from the awful replicas of genitals out there, and they introduced us to this world in tempore non suspecto.
That’s why I had very high expectations: our personal story vouched for them.
Cobra Libre II: vibrator for penis heads
The Cobra Libre II falls in the category of male sex toys for the pleasure of the most sensitive area of our little buddy: the glans.
It’s made from a solid ABS plastic that hosts the 2 buttons allowing to cycle up and down through 11 vibration patterns and the FUN button that turns the toy on and off when pressed for half a second.
After recharging it by using the magnetic charger, which is now a common feature of all the new-generation sex toys, I tried to get the hang of it.
As it’s completely waterproof, I cleaned it under running warm water, then with the dedicated Fun Factory Toy Cleaner against germs, bacteria and fungus.
Cobra Libre II: luxury cock-tail
The name that reminds a well-known drink seems to want to anticipate an inebriating time travel where our little butty is comfortably sit in the pleasure capsule, leading the tour. The shape resembles a futuristic toy car to have fun with.
Short single-seater
Once turned on, Cobra Libre II release vibrations that feel powerful even at the lowest intensity and make the toy vibrate both internally and externally.
Holding the toy with just one hand is not that easy because of its weight, its asymmetrical balance thrown to the side with the two motors, and it ergonomics that could be designed better.
Coming off a series of fulfilling experiences with Tenga’s sex toys for the penis (the whole penis), I had the bad idea of inserting the entire length of my little buddy, making him prematurely crash into the plastic wall.
Instruction for use
Once I turned it off, I read the instruction, added some water-based lubricant and turned it on again, I took care to insert only the tip.
One size fits no one
Cobra Libre II’s little chamber of vibes is made of velvety medical-grade silicone but its walls are too loose to satisfactorily hug and stimulate the right spots. So I tried to direct the toy towards some preferred areas but all I accomplished was to cause discomfort because while you’re trying to hit the spots you know you like, the vibration constantly reaches the ones you do not like.
And while you’re looking for a setting not-too-unsatisfying, somehow you have to manage to stay still and hold the position for the entire duration of your journey, which is not a piece of cake if you’re handling something that vibrates all around.
In the end, after browsing desperately through the different patterns (there isn’t a better one than the first – the lowest of all), when all you want is climaxing, at the first attempt to thrust your pelvis upward your little buddy returns to hit its head against the back wall, killing your vibe.
It looks like the aesthetic of the Cobra Libre II is designed for exhibition purposes rather than for a functional use. It looks better on a shelf or any other flat surface rather than in one human hand.
The overall design leads to gestures completely different from the ones specific of male masturbation, which loves closer and comfy environments and not the short and loose one provided by Fun Factory.
As it is, the toy doesn’t allow any motion or massage that would naturally lead to an orgasm. That’s why I find it pretty useless and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Also, this is a time when we’re finally recognising the importance of a fulfilling masturbation routine and shifting the focus from the physical act itself to the state of well-being and the pleasure we get from it, and I don’t think this toy fits in this picture.
To me, the Cobra Libre II is an encounter that I don’t want to have. Instead, it’s a rather beautiful object to be left on the shelf.
